Ruins of Zempoala

Zempoala was one of the most important cities of the Gulf Coast, capital of the Totonacs. It was a very important place to start the Spanish Conquest. The Center is in very good condition and has very nice gardens. Usually the show of the bird men (Voladores de Papantla) is presented if the weather allows it. There is a museum exhibiting a collection of archaeological pieces found on the site.
